OOTD: What I Wore for my 25th Birthday Celebration

For anyone that’s wondering – OOTD = Outfit of the day. I’m looking at you dad.

Ok, let’s start with the disclaimers. These photos were not the ones I took on the ‘night out’ there were many shots, but not the picture kind…

Second, it’s still not my birthday yet, but I’m one of those annoying people that likes to prolong their birthday for at least a week. This year I wanted to get all my friends together and celebrate, and that’s what I did! I made a special effort with my outfit and make up and I thought I’d share what they were. By the way my hair was straight but apart from that, this is pretty much a replica.

Finding outfits that make me look and feel my age are hard to do, but I was really pleased with how this turned out. So I did it all again on Sunday…

Top
First of all this top, which is from Asos. When I saw this online I had to get it. I loved the bold colours and it meant that I could pick and choose what colours I wore with it. It’s a jersey feel so very stretchy to get on and it meant I wasn’t constantly pulling it up or down all night – which is great when you’re having a boogie.

Trousers
Now these glorious pair of culottes are so bloody comfy and easy to get on. I feel like it’s like going out in your pj’s but looking like you made an effort. Win win. These are from Primark and they have loads of colours at the moment. So if you’re reading this and you have issues with tight waist bands go and check them out. They may just work! Ooh also best bit, if you have shorter legs like me – all you have to do is chop them. No sewing required!

As my friend said though, if it’s warm you can get a bit #sweaty so if you’re sitting down especially it’s probably not something you can wear all of the time in warm weather. Sorry TMI but I feel like we’re all friends now. All in all, it worked for going out and I was still able to bust some moves.

Shoes
Now I feel a bit lucky with this as I never thought this blog would become a place I could work and collaborate with brands. But basically my shoes were oh em gee kindly gifted by step2wo. They have been a company I have shopped at for years as they do really classy designer shoes for kids. You guessed it, great for us little adults as well. So here they are…

I know. I screamed when they arrived. They are absolutely stunning. They are super comfy and I feel like any of my friends would wear these too. Not that I follow the crowd but it’s nice to feel your age, you know. I don’t think I’ll ever get over getting a great pair of shoes it’s just one of those things. Ooh by the way this is from my Instagram, if you’d like to see more from me follow @gem_turner!

Make Up
I won’t go through every single make up product but I will say is that Urban Decay Heavy Metal Eyeliner in gold completely made it. If you like glitter, your heart will expand at this. With one swipe you have instant sparkle and you can gradually build it up and that exactly what I did, mixing it with a pink eyeshadow in the corners. I wish I had the time to do this everyday…

So there we go, that’s my outfit for my 25th birthday night out. Have you got any celebrations coming up and looking for that special outfit? Let me know!
